Tar

  1. Scrape off excess tar with the blunt edge of a knife and then soften the remaining tar with a little eucalyptus oil or mineral turpentine. Try to remove as much of the stain as possible by blotting the stain with eucalyptus oil/mineral turpentine and kitchen/paper towel. Always check the garment for colourfastness before using eucalyptus oil/mineral turpentine.
  2. Dampen area and rub gently with laundry soap. Rinse.
  3. Follow with a wash using Persil concentrate powder and water as hot as the fabric can tolerate.

CAUTION: Care should be taken when handling eucalyptus oil and mineral turpentine. Ensure safety directions on the bottle are followed and store out of reach of children.

Remember: Always read the care label to make sure that your garment will not be damaged when you attempt to remove the stain.
Check for colourfastness and dye stability before soaking. Need to know more? Ring the Persil Careline 0800 737 745
